What is the constellation named after?
The constellation is named after an Ethiopian
princess that the Greek hero Perseus saved in ancient Greek Mythology.
In Greek Mythology Andromeda was changed into a constellation upon her death, the only
constellation with a spiral nebula in the northern constellation visible to
the unaided eye.
